 Finding Hochkarat in Germany as a 3 year old, barely started horse was the best thing that could have happened to us. This mare is my soulmate, the horse of a lifetime! When she arrived in April 04, I could barely ride her, she was so much horse and had her own opinions.
She was presented to the AHS for studbookentry and received record scores, including a 9 for impulsion and elasticity. She was the highest scoring mare that year with the AHS with an overall 8. In 2005 I rode her in Materiale classes and she won USDF HORSE OF THE YEAR for the 4 & 5 year old mares. She also did a very good Mare Performance Test with the AHS that year, scoring 77,7% and became an Elite Mare.
Her first Embryo transfer foal, Wolkenkarat by Wolkenzauber, was born in 2005 as well. She had many wins as a yearling and 2 year old and in 2008 won the title of HORSE OF THE YEAR herself for 3 year old fillies Materiale.
 In 2006 Hochkarat had a total of 3 foals born with Embryo transfer, the full siblings Rabenschwarz and Rio Rio by Radikal and the Hanoverian colt Ryan by Royal Prince ( breeder and owner Maureen Swanson), Rabenschwarz won HOY as a yearling, Rio Rio was reserve HOY. In 2008, Rabenschwarz was licensed as a stallion with RPSI.
In 2007 Hochkarat became the mum of Rio Rima, a full sibling to Rabenschwarz and Rio Rio. Due to a minor, but persistent injury the filly could not be shown as a weanling, but earned the Gold Medal at her RPSI inspection. In 2008, Rio Rima scored 81% from renowned Sporthorse judge Hilda Guerney.
In 2008 Hochkarat had twin fillies via Embryo transfer, both full siblings to Wolkenkarat. White Solitaire and White Quartercarat. Quartercarat was shown with a final standing of 6th in the Nation. She also received her Gold medal at the inspection. Sadly we lost her to an accident later that year. She is very much missed here!
 Hochkarat herself was busy in the showring in 2008, competing very successfully at third level and helping me earn my Bronze Medal with USDF, my lifetime goal!
We are currently schooling 4th level and who knows where this fantastic mare will take me!
For 2009 we tried something different and bred Hochkarat to an outside stallion.
I am excited that the Embryo transfer was a success and if nothing bad happens in the meantime we will have an April foal from Hochkarat by Sir Donnerhall.
Karat is my friend. I have never had a horse like this, she is so personable and although she is very much an Alpha, she works her heart out for me.
Her foals are just like her, right now we are starting Rio Rio and Rabenschwarz is already going.
We were also able to acquire her dam, Destemona by De Niro, in Germany last year. I rode Mona this fall, nobody had been on her in 8 years. She is as generous as her daughter and grandchildren.
What a Dynasty right here in my pasture!

Hochkarat and her 2 year old son Rabenschwarz (who just received his stallion license with RPSI) at the USDF Northwest Finals. She was reserve champion mare and her son won the colt championship. Rabenschwarz is sired by Radikal.

"Wolkenkarat"
Hochkarat's first foal by Wolkenzauber (and our first successful embryo transfer foal), is the mirror image of her dam. She has her affectionate and confident temperament. We love her!

 Wolkenkarat received a Gold Medal rating at the RPSI inspection. She was the champion foal of the show with a score of 8.3. Way to go Little Karat! She was the first successful embryo transfer foal on our farm. Wolkenkarat at 3 years old (pictured right).
